Technical progress in plastics processing continuously presents new challenges. In order to offer new solutions, the consistent further development of products is essential.
New Manufacturing – Screws à la carte
Know-how, modern manufacturing methods, and customer-oriented thinking define the high quality of ARENZ screws.
Drawing on more than 55 years of experience, we are able to offer you a wide-ranging product portfolio, ensuring custom-tailored screw geometries.
ARENZ Screws
We produce performance-optimized, highly wear- and corrosion-resistant screws, precisely matched to customer requirements.
Screw types:
- Pin-type screw
- Three-zone screws
- Barrier screws
- Degassing screws
- Twin screws
- Conical or parallel
- Co-rotating or counter-rotating
- Multi-piece screws
Including all screw components such as:
- Mixing elements, shear elements, reverse shear elements
- Screw tips
Technical specifications:
- Diameter: up to 500 mm
- Length: up to 6,000 mm (Multi-part solutions tailored to your requirements)
- Flight hardening – Using our plasma powder welding system, we are able to process all common hardfacing materials using the PTA (Plasma Transferred Arc) method. In particular, ARENZ has developed its own proprietary hardfacing materials (see Hardfacing Materials).
Materials:
- Nitriding steel
- Powder metallurgical steel
- Nickel-based alloys for extreme corrosion and temperature resistance (e.g. Inconel, Hastelloy)
Below you will find a list of material technologies with which we routinely work and for which we have developed our own optimized screw geometries:
- PVC, PS, SB, HIPS, ABS, PP, PET, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, MDPE, PA, PVDF, Fluoropolymers, EVA, PES, R-PES, PCR, PIR, EPS, EPP, PC, POM, PMMA, EVOH, PUR, PU, EPDM, Silicone Elastomer, TPU, TPE
- High-temperature resistant plastics (e.g. PEEK, PTFE, PFA)
For certain applications, the geometry must be protected by a coating.
We offer the following options:
- PVD coating – show me more
- CVD coating – show me more
- Hard chrome plating – show me more
- TiN coating – show me more
- Electroless nickel plating – show me more

ARENZ Hardfacing Materials – Proprietary Development for Maximum Wear Protection
For the highest demands on wear and corrosion protection, ARENZ has developed and patented its own hardfacing alloys – the ARNIT material series. These are applied to screws using the Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) welding process, providing custom-tailored protection against abrasion, adhesion, and tribochemical stress.
The ARNIT alloys are based on three proven material systems – cobalt, nickel, and iron – covering a wide range of application requirements. Depending on the plastic, filler, and processing method, we work with you to select the optimum alloy for your specific application.
| Designation | Alloy | Hardness |
|---|---|---|
| Arnit 100 | Cobalt-based | 50 – 60 HRC |
| Arnit 110 | Cobalt-based | 38 – 45 HRC |
| Arnit 120 | Cobalt-based | 41 – 48 HRC |
| Arnit 200 | Nickel-based | 51 – 54 HRC |
| Arnit 210 | Nickel-based | 52 – 57 HRC |
| Arnit 300 | Iron-based | 56 – 62 HRC |
Through the targeted selection of the hardfacing alloy in combination with the appropriate screw geometry, you achieve maximum service life, reduced maintenance costs, and long-term assurance of your production process quality.
