What is Wear?
Abrasive wear occurs through friction between the screw flight and the barrel wall. This is intensified by additives in the plastic such as glass fibers, color pigments, flame retardants, and other additives, which can also lead to corrosive wear.
Wear can result in product defects, scrap, and costly production downtime. We therefore recommend regularly inspecting typical wear parts such as the screw, barrel, and non-return valve (NRV).
Using measuring equipment specially developed by ARENZ, we carry out wear measurement directly at your facility and can immediately provide you with the degree of wear.
ARNIT Hardfacing Materials
The ARNIT hardfacing materials developed by us are corrosion- and wear-resistant. Depending on the base material of the screw and barrel, as well as the plastic being processed, we apply the ARNIT hardfacing material best suited to your processing requirements.
Advantages of Reconditioning
- Cost savings of up to 50% compared to new manufacturing
- Shorter delivery time
- Machine downtime reduced to a minimum
